 Go to a shelter or rescue with a room where you can sit and meet cats. Meet the cats. Hang out with them a while, and see which one wants your affection and seeks your lap. Also, the shelter and/or fosters may have information on the cat’s personality. If you go to a site like petfinder.com, there will often be personality descriptions. All breeds have “lap cats” , and no breeds guarantee them. Maine Coon however, are more known for sitting next to you than on you, so that is not a way to go. (given how large they are, you’ll be grateful.) Ragdolls are the most laid back breed, good wtih being handled. But it is really an individual thing whether a cat wants to sit on you. I have heard that sphynx are cuddly, if you like that kind of cat. Find the cat that comes up to you and wants physical contact.

Its another party food- this time for grownups, quite popular in the 1970s and 1980s in Ireland, but seldom seen since. I’m guessing from the name that it was introduced from France at some stage, and for a time- roughly 40 years ago- no self respecting dinner party was complete without these things. It may be in the recent memory of people who emigrated from Ireland in the 1970s and 1980s- but its no longer cherished in Ireland as it once was.
