At no. 10 we have ‘Egg Custard sauce’. This is a fresh custard made with eggs. The custard eaten in Ireland, since before 1840, was an English invention- Birds Custard, which was famous for not containing any eggs. The story goes that it was invented to allow people who couldn’t tolerate eggs eat custard- but it took off because it was so cheap (basically its main ingredient was corn flour).

It’s about two death-obsessed teenage sisters whose worlds are rocked when one is bitten by a werewolf and slowly begins to transform over the following month.

The one who told G—- it was okay to like girl stuff, to collect Barbies and wear a pink shirt every now and then. Now the Jewish butcher shops would not have stocked bacon (or any pork products)- so the Irish, instead of going further afield, would have tried to buy a local meat with which to recreate their beloved bacon and cabbage- and that meat very often was corned beef. As meat was a treat- it was devoured with relish- and a whole new myth about corned beef and cabbage grew up.
