This 2002 film really flew under my radar, but it’s definitely worth checking out. It’s creepy, funny and genuinely unnerving. And lead actress Angela Bettis completely knocks her role out of the park. It’s about a socially awkward and self-conscious girl who has an obsession with “perfect” body parts. After her heart is repeatedly broken, she decides that if she cannot find a friend… she will “make” one.

Its another party food- this time for grownups, quite popular in the 1970s and 1980s in Ireland, but seldom seen since. I’m guessing from the name that it was introduced from France at some stage, and for a time- roughly 40 years ago- no self respecting dinner party was complete without these things. It may be in the recent memory of people who emigrated from Ireland in the 1970s and 1980s- but its no longer cherished in Ireland as it once was.
