And wigs… Halloween was the both the best and worst time to buy them. The good part was, a guy shopping for a wig in the Halloween section of Walmart doesn’t draw suspicious looks. The bad part was that the wigs were, at best, atrocious, looking like hippie tribbles more than anything.

Its another party food- this time for grownups, quite popular in the 1970s and 1980s in Ireland, but seldom seen since. I’m guessing from the name that it was introduced from France at some stage, and for a time- roughly 40 years ago- no self respecting dinner party was complete without these things. It may be in the recent memory of people who emigrated from Ireland in the 1970s and 1980s- but its no longer cherished in Ireland as it once was.

Its not rocket science- most of us have helped our mothers with the cabbage in the kitchen while still in preschool.
