Stella is a truly underappreciated game. Before the abomination that is Angry Birds 2 and the like came out, Stella the pink bird had her own, mostly-female squad of birds to lead in their own game. I loved its vibes and its music, but what did I love more than anything about that game? The fact that these new birds had better powers. It was still very, very challenging, but I really liked the use of strong heroines. Sure, they weren’t furious all the time like the OG’s, but I loved to see them express more emotions in addition to anger.

Its another party food- this time for grownups, quite popular in the 1970s and 1980s in Ireland, but seldom seen since. I’m guessing from the name that it was introduced from France at some stage, and for a time- roughly 40 years ago- no self respecting dinner party was complete without these things. It may be in the recent memory of people who emigrated from Ireland in the 1970s and 1980s- but its no longer cherished in Ireland as it once was.

Its not rocket science- most of us have helped our mothers with the cabbage in the kitchen while still in preschool. The US version tends to feature copious amounts of melted butter- the Irish version, not.
